Prosperity is stability

Subsaharan African nations are emerging from decades of violence and insecurity, but this peace cannot last if it is not quickly followed by a dividend. At the same time, the current climate poses an opportunity for conscientious and principled investors. We believe that careful private investment in key infrastructure is a step towards ensuring long-term stability and prosperity in Africa.

To this end, Stewart-Oke has concluded discussions with representatives of the Government of South Sudan to undertake development projects there. Stewart-Oke is in the process of accumulating a pool of working capital that will allow it to quickly leverage links to senior members of the government to undertake capital-intensive, high-return investments. Stewart-Oke will establish itself as an early, effect international presence in the South Sudanese capital of Juba and, by so doing, will position itself for future investment following independence in July 2011.
